Recycling in the Commons

Overview

During a waste Eco-Audit, these New Braunfels High School students found that their school generates roughly 43 pounds of plastic waste per day. Determined to reduce the amount of plastic sent to the landfill, they are using their grant fund to buy recycling bins, trash cans, and educational signage for their cafeteria and common areas. Through data collection, they believe additional bin and education will help their classmates reduce the amount of plastic going into the landfill by 1,161 pounds per year!
